Ada Marie Gotcher, age 97, completed her journey to heaven on Monday April 26th, 2021 at her home in Monahans, Texas. Marie was born on November 25, 1923 to John Floyd Titsworth and Elizabeth Pearl Titsworth on the “little place” of the family farm near Glen Cove, Coleman County, Texas. She graduated from Centennial High School in 1942.
On September 23, 1943, she married Eddie Foy Gotcher when he came home on furlough from the Army. She came to Pyote while Eddie Foy was overseas during the war to be with Eddie Foy’s parents while they were working at the Pyote Air Force Base. Marie worked on the Base in the officer’s mess hall on the stream table.
In 1946, when Eddie Foy came home from the war, they made their home in Pyote, Texas. Marie was a strong, quiet lady who contributed her attributes-in her love of God, her girls, her family and her church family. After the death of Eddie Foy in 1957, she continued to live and raise her girls in Pyote. She stayed in Pyote until 1989, when she and the girls moved to Monahans. First Baptist Church in Monahans became her church home, where she was active in Sunday School, and her greatest thrill was baking cookies for the youth at church, and for the coworkers of Barbara and Peggy at Ward Memorial Hospital. She also loved the game of 42, she was a cut throat player.
Marie is preceded in death by her husband Eddie Foy Gotcher, her parents John Floyd and Elizabeth Pearl Titsworth, and her beloved sisters Allie May Tuckey and Louise Howard.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara Gotcher and Peggy Carlson and her husband Jerry. She also leaves 2 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, along with several great nieces and nephews, and several cousins.
Pallbearers for the service will be Daniel Bergmann, Caelan Thomas, Jack Cannon, Wes Kniqqe, Tommy Diez and Harold Coursey.
