Arlen R. Johnson, 88, of Monahans, Texas peacefully passed away at his home on September 16th, 2020.
Arlen was born in Clyde, Texas to Raymond and Laura Johnson on May 19th, 1932.
Arlen was a God loving, prayerful man; humble; respectful; loved to dance and sing; had a kindred spirit; and most of all loved serving the Lord and reading his sacred bible. He worked 38 years for El Paso Natural Gas as a Lead Man in the Field Department. After retiring he became the local locksmith, was a member of Monahans Lions Club, and Wagon Masters. His other hobbies/interests were anything outdoors, watching sports, reading, and especially cooking catfish for family and friends.
Arlen is survived by his wife, Paula J. Johnson of 59 years, three brothers and dearly loved by many of his nieces and nephews.
Arlen is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Robert Pomroy and other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be deacons from First Baptist Church in Monahans, where Arlen served as a life-time deacon.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 21st, 2020 at First Baptist Church in Monahans, Texas with Dr. Chris Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church Youth & Children Ministries in Arlen Johnson’s name at 504 S. Alice Avenue, Monahans, TX 79756.
