Beatrice was like her husband "Tony" a lifelong Monahans Lobo fan as well as a Dallas Cowboy fan. Also, like her husband enjoyed watching sports, especially when her children and grandchildren were participating. Boxing was a particular passion as she witnessed her brothers, children and nephews participate as youngsters. Unknown to most of her family was her athletic ability. When her children were playing Pop Warner football in Santa Ana, California they held a game for the parents where the parents suited up for a football game. The fathers played and then the mothers. As children we cheered for our parents, but we were unprepared for what we were about to see when the mothers suited up. Beatrice was chosen to be one of the running backs the mothers provided an entertaining game highlighted by some spectacular runs by Beatrice on two occasions she broke through the line for some long runs before they were able to bring her down. After the game, Antonio was told in good nature by the other parents that as a result of her performance they now knew that her children got their athletic ability from their mother. It was the highlight of the year for our family.
Beatrice spent the majority of her life nurturing her children and grandchildren, providing the support to help them through life. In her later life she was thrilled to see her grandchildren participate in sporting events throughout Texas. She encouraged her talented children and grandchildren to pursue their passions and do them to their utmost. Through her example her children were taught the lessons to allow them to navigate the challenging yet rewarding world that God has provided. Beatrice loved her siblings immensely and was always happiest when they had the opportunity to be together. Indeed, some of the best moments in her life were when the various families got together where there was plenty of laughter and good times to go around.
