Bob Hardaway, son of the late James H Hardaway and Maymie Brittain Hardaway was born on March 10, 1928 in Hartley County Texas. He attended Pecos and Monahans schools and was a graduate of Pecos High School. Bob made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ at an early age, and was a longtime member of Southside Baptist Church in Monahans, Tx He was an active member of churches for many years, was a Sunday School teacher and worked in the youth department. Bob married Shirley Hardaway on June 12, 1953 in Pecos Texas. They were blessed with 4 children. Bob spent his early years as a cowboy, water well driller and worked in the oilfield. He loved to hunt and fish especially at Bonita Lake in Ruidoso, NM and enjoyed any western TV show or movie. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bob quietly departed this life on Monday, January 21 at ORMC in Odessa after a sudden illness. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Brothers Leroy, Jack and Bill Hardaway and sisters Lois Sherman and Donella Rodgers, son Richard Hardaway and grandsons Matt Hyman and Gerald Plumlee. Bob is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley Hardaway, daughter Genie Plumlee and husband John, daughter in law Jill Hardaway, son Ray Hardaway and wife Susan, daughter Susie Hyman and husband Mike, 11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 1 great -great grandchild, Brothers, Donny and Tommy Hardaway and sister Judith McCoy and husband Charlie, many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 24, 2018 at Southside Baptist Church in Monahans, TX with Ministers Jeppie Wilson and Josh Rieff officiating.
