Charles Butler

Charles Douglas Butler, 83, of Grandfalls/Imperial, passed away on March 25, 2018 at the Imperial Reservoir.
Charles was born in Knott, Texas to Charlie H and Josephine Susan Day Butler on November 10, 1934. The 4th child and only boy Charles had 7 sisters. Charles married Eda Louise Siebenhor Butler on November 12, 1956. Charles worked on the farm and in the oil field and still found time in his last 30 years to proudly operate the Imperial Reservoir.
Charles is preceded in death by his wife, Louise Butler, parents Charlie H. and Josephine Butler, sisters Lillian Butler, Betty Chipman, Velma Gamel, and his great granddaughter Kaylee York.
Charles is survived by his daughters Charleen Janell Butler York and husband Mike York, of Grandfalls, and Sharon Lynn Butler Sparks and husband Dale Sparks, of Odessa. His sisters, Berniece McLerran, Gay DeWald and husband Tommy DeWald, Sue Konieczka, and Ann Flournoy. His grandchildren, Charles Michael York, Robert Louis York, Edward Lee Sparks, and Basil Douglas Sparks. His great grandchildren, Katelynne Shian Pruitt, Robert Douglas York, Sierra Michelle York, Kegan Daniel York, Zoey Irene York, Connor Michael York, Alliyah Lynn York, Brent William York, and Lily Love York, and he also had a great great grandchild on the way. And numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Charles' family would like to thank Dr.Thoung of Monahans, Charles' nurse Donna who aided him for several years and treated him like family, and First Baptist Church of Monahans and their staff for their hospitality.
Viewing will be Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 1:00 p.m., Family Visitation will be at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Harkey Funeral Home Chapel with John- David Culbertson officiating. Burial will follow at Tamarisk Cemetery in Grandfalls, TX.
