Charles York

Charles "Chuck" Michael York went to be with our Lord on December 30, 2018 at the age of 41. Chuck was born June 15, 1977 in Fort Stockton to John Michael York and Charleen Janell Butler York.
Chuck was known for his big heart, wise-cracks, and not backing down to any man. He could be as brute as he had to be, but also had such a gentle soul and made sure his love always had fresh flowers all the time.
Charles lived out his entire life in Ward County. He loved to shoot guns, ride motorcycles, drink "beer", and surround himself with his friends and family.
Chuck is also the only recipient of two Top Gun 4-H rifle buckles in Ward County.
God scored big when he received Chuck at the gates. He will make a perfect Angel.
Charles is preceded in death by grandparents Charles and Louise Butler of Grandfalls; Bobbie Klepper of Odessa; and Bob and Virginia York of Odessa; his wife Christie Lynn Nunn York of Grandfalls; daughter Kaelie Ann York of Monahans; and his sister-in-law Marlee Anna Irene York of Monahans.
Chuck had many loves in his life, but he is survived by the love of his life, Lacey Baughn of Monahans; parents Mike and Charleen York of Grandfalls; children Katelynne Shian and husband Zach Vasquez of Coyanosa; Connor York, Brent York, and Alliyah York all of Monahans; Lilly Hazel Love York of Colorado, and Chad Simonton of Monahans; one brother Robert Louis York of Monahans; grandson Caspian Jacoby "Nugget" Vasquez of Coyanosa; nieces Sierra and Zoey York of Grandfalls, and nephews Kegan York of Grandfalls, and Robert D. York of Ft. Stockton, and aunt and uncle Sharon and Dale Sparks.
He is also survived by numerous friends and family including his "BFF" Kristina Woodward, Tabitha Cunningham, Travis Kinsey, KC Williams, Bones, and Brooke Omsby.
Pallbearers will be Chad Simonton, Scott Mckenzie, Edward and Basil Sparks, Travis Kinsey, Jerry Gathings, Kegan York, and Patrick Heflin.
The viewing was held Wednesday, January 2 from 5-7 p.m. at Harkey Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday January 3 in the chapel at Harkey Family Funeral Home with Dr. Chris Powell and John-David Culbertson officiating.
Interment will follow at Tamarisk cemetery in Grandfalls.
