On Monday, January 20th 2020, Christain James Patrikc Harris, of Wickett, Texas, peacefully ascended into Heaven at the tender age of 14. His baptized, saved and blessed spirit departed this world from UMC in Lubbock, Texas. Christain was born on August 30th 2005, to Tiffany Christian Harris-Hanks, at ORH in Odessa, Texas. Christain was a kind and loving young man, with a heart of gold. He was known to be silly and he had such an impeccable and unique sense of humor. He enjoyed traveling to see new places, playing baseball, riding his bike, and the new dirt bike he had just received for Christmas. He liked “cruising around” with his uncles and cousins, listening to all kinds of music and his eclectic taste in music usually set the mood for the drive. Anyone who met Christain would quickly realize that he was very respectful, and he had notable manners. He had a beautiful smile, and although it was attributed to a troublesome time in braces, it could light up even the biggest room. He enjoyed the outdoors and was a “catcher” of all creatures. Time with family was loved and Christain was always the eager volunteer to say the mealtime blessing. In a manner not in accordance to his age, and being wise beyond his years, he would speak with confidence and always had the perfect words for each occasion. He had an exceptional work ethic and was always willing to help someone out. He was very interested in learning to do new things, and caught on quickly, no matter the task. It was pleasing and we marveled at how he could put his newfound knowledge to good use and always do such a good job. Christain was a big brother to two younger siblings and was their friend, their protector, their advisor, a joke maker and their secret keeper…. Their “Bubba”. He had many close family members, a loving and large extended family and many close lifelong friends that are just like family to him. With each and every one, beautiful memories were made, and they will be forever treasured. Although we, his family and friends, are devastated by his sudden and tragic passing, and we will greatly miss our ”meal time minister”….we are each comforted knowing exactly who was there to welcome him as he passed through the pearly gates of heaven. He has been reunited with the grandparents that he has missed so tremendously. We are going to miss Christain with his heart of gold, his great big hugs, his beaming smile, his golden locks, his rosy cheeks, and his captivating baby blue eyes. Even though he may no longer be with us on earth in HIS physical body, he lives on… in our thoughts, our memories, our hearts and in each recipient of his “gift of life”. We are so proud of the hero he became when his donated organs were given to those who could not have survived without them. Those recipients and their families now have the “miracle” that we had prayed for and they can now go on to make precious memories of their own. Christain’s Mom Tiffany, and Dad Willie have fought so hard and will continue their fight, in Christain’s memory, to make HIS story known, so that the story of his struggle with help save other lives. We received a true blessing to have been part of this sweet young man’s life, and to have precious memories of our own.
