Clifford Crouch

December 23, 1948 — January 6, 2018

After a yearlong battle with cancer, Clifford passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018.

Clifford was born in Monahans, Texas to A.B. and Aileen Crouch on 12/23/1948. He grew up in Grandfalls, Texas. He spent many days as a boy, striking out in the country side with his dog and his .22. He and his best friend, Larry Don Mosley, were either at his house or the Mosley's, and he loved every minute he spent with that big, loving family! He and Larry remained friends and were more like brothers.

After graduating high school, he attended Cisco Junior College for two years. In his sophomore year, he came home for the GRHS homecoming and a date with Pamela Roberts. In a small town like Grandfalls, everybody knows everybody, and they had known each other since he was five and she was three. God had a plan! Their friendship grew into love over the next few months. They were married in the Union Church in Grandfalls in August 1969. Their first son was born in 1971, and twin sons in 1974. They moved to Monahans in 1982.
While still going to school, Clifford went to work in the oilfield when he was 14 years old. He went into business for himself in 1977, Cliff's Welding. He worked in the oil field doing what he loved, fabricating and working on the "big" rigs. He saw many changes in the oilfield. The advances in technology, made the oilfield a much different place than it was in the early ‘70's. He went from watching Red Adair shut down a blowout down around Ft. Stockton, and watching that big rig burn to the ground, to being respectfully called grandpa by the young ‘uns who have now taken their spot in the industry.

His favorite scripture was, 2nd Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
He was a man of unwavering faith, a humble man who loved God and his family with his whole heart.

He often opened his home to many who needed help getting on their feet. He and Pamela added a cousin to their household in 1972, Angela Brumley, when she was 13. He loved her and provided for her and watched with pride as she graduated high school. He was extremely proud of his three sons. Proud of the Christian men they are, loving husbands and fathers. He taught his sons about integrity, the value of a man's word and actions, and the value of doing a job right, the first time! If you start something, you finish it and you always give 110[[][[]][[][[]]][[][[]][[][%]]]]! He not only taught them to put God first in everything, but lived his life as an example for them to follow. His common sense and steadfastness gave his family a firm foundation which they could always depend on.

He is survived by his wife Pamela of Monahans, three sons, Eric (Jennifer) Crouch of Littlefield, Texas; Joshua (Angie) Crouch of Lubbock, Texas and Jason (Laura) Crouch of Midland, Texas. Eight grandchildren whom he adored: Jordan Irby, Tori Crouch, Caleb Crouch, Braden Crouch, Declan Crouch, Devyn Crouch, Kaitlyn Crouch and Samuel Crouch. One great granddaughter, Carter. One sister, Barbara Bowden of Grandfalls, Texas; three brothers, David (Terri) Roberts of Ft. Worth, Texas, Stan (Cathy) Roberts of Brownwood, Texas, and Stephen (Kelly) Roberts of Denver City, Texas and several nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his oldest sister Patty Prater and youngest sister Irma Phipps.

"Forever Forward! We don't stop, we don't quit, we don't give up!"

Pall bearers are David Roberts, Stan Roberts, Stephen Roberts, Benjamin Roberts, Gary Prater, and Johnny Puckett.
