Clifton Ray Harris, 91 left this earth for his final resting place on 9/24/2022. Born to Ralph and Ada (Bradley) Harris on January 29th, 1931, in Bennington, Illinois.
Cliff enlisted in the United States Army in 1949 and received an honorable discharge from the Army in 1952.
As soon as he was released from the Army, he married the love of his life on January 14, 1954, Mary Belle Curtis.
In their 68 years together, they moved a few times for his work in the oil field, but finally settled in Monahans, TX in 1964. They kept their farmland in Illinois, where they would travel to every year for vacation.
Cliff loved to walk his farmland in Illinois. He was a farmer and an oilman. His favorite sport to watch was boxing. He retired in 1986 from Santa Fe Drilling where he was a Lead Driller. He spent plenty of time fishing and hunting, but his favorite thing was to bring tootsie pops to his grandkids; then it became a new tradition with his great grand kids. He spent every morning at Dairy Queen, where he would talk about the old days with his friends. At lunchtime, you better believe he was at the Senior Citizen Center catching up with the rest of his friend.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Ada Harris, 5 brothers: Jean Harris, Harry Harris, Jarrel Harris, Ivan Harris and Ralph Harris Jr. 1 sister-in-law: Wanda Miller, 1 brother-in-law: Fred Brewer
He is survived by his wife, Mary Belle Harris, 3 sons and daughter in law, Gary Harris of Monahans, Mike Harris of Monahans, and Stephen and wife Doris Harris of Monahans, 3 brothers: Robert Harris of West Salem Illinois, Lionel and wife Jeanie Harris of Mt.
