David M. Williams, 87 and long time resident of El Paso, Texas, passed away May 7, 2018 at his daughter's home in Monahans, Texas.
David was born Aug 31, 1930 in Mexico City, the third son of Piers M. and Kathleen M. Williams. David was educated at the Texas Military Institute in San Antonio, Texas and attended the University of Florida. He married the love of his life, Maxine E. Keister, on March 7, 1952 at Christ Church in Waterloo, Iowa. David honorably served 20 years in the United States Air Force with the Office of Special Investigations. After retirement from the Air Force in 1971, he was employed by El Paso National Bank as the Executive Officer in charge of the International Banking Department. He continued to work as an International Banker until his retirement in 1993.
David was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. David was an avid golfer, loved fishing, his pets and his Maria's cookies.
David was preceded in death by his parents Piers M. and Kathleen M. Williams, his brother, Piers Lakeside Williams and his niece Kathleen J. Williams. David is survived by his wife of 66 years, Maxine E. Williams, son P. Michael Williams and wife Cindy of El Paso, Texas; daughter Christie W. Bassett and son-in-law Victor of Monahans, Texas; daughter Patricia E. Reed and son-in-law William (Bill) of El Paso, Texas; daughter Susan Zimmerman and son-in-law Shawn of Denver, CO; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be May 23, 2018 at 10:30 AM, Ft Bliss National Cemetery, El Paso, TX.
The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project.
