Diane Mcdaniel

Diane (Brantley) McDaniel age 78 died August 5, 2022 in Midland, TX after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Diane was born July 8, 1944 in Graham, TX to parents Henry and Kelly (Meeks) Brantley and moved to Wickett, TX as a young girl. Diane graduated Monahans High School in 1962 and went on to graduate from Odessa Business College. Diane became a resident of Monahans, TX in 1980. Diane enjoyed bowling having competed in 45 consecutive National tournaments. She also played and coached girls softball. Diane loved to water and snow ski. Diane was a fierce competitor in everything she did in life. She loved the Lady Loboes Volleyball Team and Monahans Lobo football and followed them anytime she could. Diane was married to Sammy G. McDaniel on November 8, 1962 for 53 years until his death in October, 2015. Together they owned Brantley Trucking Co. until they retired in 2007.

Diane is survived by Kent McDaniel and wife Debbie of Monahans, Melanie Bruns and husband Robert of Katy; brothers Larry Brantley and Donny Brantley of Houston, sister-in-law June Blair of Odessa; grandchildren Brantley McDaniel of Irving, Kelly McDaniel of San Antonio and Catherine, Daniel and Amelia Bruns of Katy; as well as numerous other extended family and friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 9, from 5-7pm at Harkey Funeral Home, 210 S. Allen Ave, Monahans, TX. A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, August 10, at First Baptist Church, 504 S. Alice Ave, Monahans, TX. An interment will immediately follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery, 400 S. Helen Ave., Monahans, TX.
