Dolores (Lolita) Silvas Najar
Dolores (Lolita) Silvas Najar, 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at her home with family by her side.
Dolores was born in Fort Davis, Texas on August 28, 1931 to Gregorio and Clara Silvas. She grew up in Fort Davis and married Robert Najar in August 1948. They were married 73 years when he passed away February 15, 2022. They had four children, Robert (Roger) Najar, MaryLou Valenzuela, Delma Ann Najar & Danny Ray Najar.
Dolores enjoyed working as a cook at multiple restaurants in Monahans, through- out her lifetime. She had a deep passion for cooking and this inspired her to teach all her grandkids how to cook with pride. Thanks to her, all her grandchildren have grown up to become excellent cooks, especially the boys.
Lola was a “One of a kind Grandma”, who spoiled her Grandkids when they were with her. She would make everybody their favorite food no matter how many different entrees she would have to make, never complained nor said no.
Everybody was, always, welcomed at her house then to the table to eat. She would promptly offer a second plate before the first plate was even finished. Dolores always wanted to ensure that no one was still hungry. Green chicken enchiladas was a specialty plate, at her home.
Dolores gave unconditional love to anyone, was very patient, supportive, devoted Mother and Grandmother. She assisted raising all the grandkids and great grandkids.
Dolores was always nice, soft spoken (like her Mom), greeting everyone with a smile, friendly, always offered a helping hand if needed and enjoyed visiting with everyone but one thing she didn’t like was to gossip about anyone or for them to bad mouth someone else.
Dolores enjoyed getting pampered (spoiled) by her husband, Robert, taking her coffee in bed every morning and being a priority in his life. They were always together (like twinkes), inseparable until they started having serious health issues.
Dolores was preceded in death by her (Parents) Gregorio and Clara Silvas, (Husband) Robert Najar, (Sons) Robert Roger Najar and Danny Ray Najar, (Daughter) Delma Ann Najar, (Grandson) Joshua Solorzano, (Sisters) Gloria Bustamantes, Patsy Rodriguez, Lenora Rodriguez, (Brothers) Pete Alvarado, Fidel Silvas, Richard Silvas.
Dolores is survived by (One Daughter) MaryLou Valenzuela; by five grandchildren, (MaryLou’s) Bridgett Valenzuela, Ryan Valenzuela, (Danny’s) Scott Najar, Shelbi Najar Higgins, (Roger’s) Leslie Najar Ramsey; by four great grandchildren, (Bridgett’s) Kyle Bumpas, Kevin Bumpas, (Leslie’s) Matthew Salinas, Madi Ramsey and 1 great great grandchild, Grayson Salinas, (One Brother) Eddie Silvas (Wife, Linda), Nieces, Nephews and Cousins and very Many Friends who will always remember and cherish her all those unforgettable Memories with her.
Dolores was Re-United with Lord and the love of her life Robert (Husband) for Eternity. Everyone would call them the “Honey’s”. Chapter to her Life is Complete and Closed (Beautiful Love Story).
