Edward Ornelas

Edward "Eddie" Ray Ornelas, 41, of Monahans, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Ward Memorial Hospital. He was born December 24, 1973 in Odessa to Valente and Adelita (Anaya) Ornelas.

Eddie was a dedicated employee of Halliburton for 15 years. He loved BBQing with friends and listening to music. He had lots of nieces and nephews that loved him greatly. Family was the most important thing in the world to Eddie, and his kids were his life. He was truly one of a kind. A selfless, loving man, his loyalty to friends and family was extraordinary, but the unconditional love he offered is what will be missed the most.

He is preceded in death by his father, Valente Ornelas; sister, Elaine Ornelas; grandfather, Jose Anaya; and grandmother, Nina Ornelas.

Eddie is survived by his son, Hayden Ornelas, daughter, Haylie Ornelas, and their mother and Eddie's best friend, Shawna Ornelas; mother, Adelita "Ada" Ornelas; brother, Richard Ornelas and wife Tracey; and sister, Lonora Hunt and husband Steve.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 23, 2015 from 11 AM - 9 PM at Harkey Funeral Home, with the Rosary being recited at 7 PM. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 10 AM at Southside Baptist Church with Associate Pastor Jeremy McCarty officiating. Burial will follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery. Omar Lujan, Johnny Ochoa, Frankie Ochoa, Fonzie Hinojos, Brook Tefertiller, Gilbert Hernandez, and Hector Hernandez will serve as pallbearers.
