Era Washington

Era Mae Washington, 89, of Monahans, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Monahans Managed Care Center. She was born August 13, 1925 in Yellow Water, Louisiana to Harrison and Olive (Robinson) Hannon.

She spent most of her life doing domestic work. She raised all her grand babies and some of her great-grand babies. She enjoyed playing cards and puzzle books.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bedell Washington; daughter, Cynthia Ray Anderson; parents, Harrison and Olive Hannon; and brother, Al Hannon.

Era Mae is survived by her daughters, Wanda Brown and her husband Robert and Sharon Mingo, both of Monahans; brother, Joseph Hannon of Oakland, CA; 7 grandchildren, Paul Blake, Sr., Damita Allen, Mae Washington, Cynthia Washington, Sherri Britt, Patrick Willis, and Zena Brown; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 17, 2015 from 9 AM - 8 PM at Harkey Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 11 AM at Shiloh Baptist Church with Pastor Jeppie Wilson officiating.
