Ernest Edward Armstrong

Ernest "Ed" Edward Armstrong, a revered member of the Monahans community and a dedicated petroleum consultant in the oil and gas industry, passed away on October 11, 2023, at the age of 86. Son of Parker and Ella Armstrong, he was born on December 16, 1936, in Buena Vista, TX. Ernest led a remarkable life filled with integrity, passion, and a deep commitment to his family and profession.

Ernest's journey began in small-town Texas, where he developed a strong work ethic and an unwavering determination. Although he did not obtain a formal college degree, Ernest's expertise in the oil and gas industry was unparalleled. His profound knowledge and invaluable insights made him a trusted consultant, allowing him to leave a lasting impact on the industry that he loved.

Dedicated to his country, Ernest proudly served in the Marines. His military service instilled in him a sense of duty, honor, and loyalty that he carried throughout his life. Even in his final days, Ernest remained a shining example of resilience and courage.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ernest's greatest source of pride was his cherished family. Devoted husband to Glenda Armstrong, he shared a deep bond with his spouse. Ernest’s children, Shirley Marble, Sandra Koenig-Armstrong, and Danny Armstrong were his pride and joy, and he imparted upon them his values of hard work, determination, and compassion.

Ernest's passing leaves a void in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to have known him. However, the celebration of his extraordinary life will take place on October 14, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the 3rd and Dwight Church of Christ in Monahans, TX.
