Evat Chatman, Jr.

December 14, 1954 — February 28, 2017

Mr. Evat "Pokey Dot" Thomas Chatman Jr. was born to Evat T Chatman Sr and Audrey Mae Brown on December 14, 1954 in Monahans, Texas, he was the oldest of three children, brothers Lonnie B. Anderson, and John L Anderson both of Monahans, Texas. He lived in Monahans, Texas for 62 years. Evat was a student of Monahans High School. He was a employed by Whiting Petroleum and Gas for 10 years and in the same field for 30 plus years.

He was joyfully married to Margaret Washington on the 19th day of May, 1994. During their thirty-three years of marriage, they raised their six children, Evat T, Brentice, Marcus, all of Monahans, daughters, Audrey, Ericka, of Monahans, Nicole of Oklahoma. Evat was the proud dad, and granddad (Papa) of twenty-five grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Along with being a wonderful husband, dad, and granddad (Papa), Evat enjoyed many hobbies, which included camping, and fishing. He had a strong love for his Dallas Cowboys. Evat was a wonderful advisor and a man full of life and wisdom. Evat was loved by a host of nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. Evat came to Christ at Grace Fellowship where he was loved. Evat fought a good fight, he finished his course and he kept his faith. He will be missed just not forgotten.
