Glen Smith

Glen D. Smith, 82 of Monahans died Saturday October 15th at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. He was born June 13, 1934 in Bunger, Texas to Beatrice and Elmer Smith. He married Anita Jo Thompson on August 8, 1953 in Knox City she died in 1988. He later married Barbara Audeen Holman in Monahans at April 21, 1991, she died in 2009. On November 19, 2009 he married Betha Sue Olgin. Enjoyed to play golf at Ward County Municipal Golf Course, where he had 3 hole-in-one. He enjoyed hunting deer and dove. Mr. Smith cut 4 generations of hair at the Post Office Barbershop in Monahans.

Preceded in death by his wives, Anita and Barbara; 3 sisters, Leona Harris, Mary Frances Burgess, and Lorene Hill. Three brothers, Robert, Weldon, and Jack Smith.

Survivors include his children; Glen Smith Jr. of Monahans, Kay Armstrong and husband Ron of Simi Valley, CA, Pam Teague and husband Doug of Clyde, TX., Becky Weaver of Stephenville, TX. 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 19th at Bethel Baptist Church with burial to follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Gordon Cox officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, October 18th at Harkey Funeral Home.
