Glenn Horton, 85, departed this world on Saturday, March 22, 2025, peacefully at home. He was born on November 1, 1939, to Eldon Lloyd and Jessie Horton at home in Wichita Falls, Texas. Glenn met Helen Joan Horton in Burkburnett in 1957 and they were married on February 6th, 1959. They lived in Burkburnett many years before moving to Monahans, Texas in 1968 and making it their permanent home.
Glenn was a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor for Texas Utilities Electric Company for over 40 years until he retired in 1992. He enjoyed metal detecting, arrowhead hunting, staying at their cabin in Fort Davis, and playing dominoes. He was a man who could do just about anything including welding, mechanic work, and just fixing things. He enjoyed time spent with his beloved wife, kids and grandkids.
Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, Eldon Lloyd and Jessie Horton; his loving wife, Helen Joan Horton; five brothers, Dale, Jerry, Eldon Jr, Phillip and James; five sisters, Carlie Davis, Carol Wright, Beverly Mcgee, Barbara Horton and Glenda Horton.
He is survived by his two sons, David (Cathy) Horton of Monahans, Texas, and Dennis (Latonia) Horton of Leesburg, TX; daughter, Keri Caldwell of Monahans, Texas; three grandsons, Mitchell Horton of Midland, Texas, Logan Horton of Monahans, Texas, Braden Caldwell of Monahans, Texas; one granddaughter, Kaylee Horton of Odessa, Texas; and one brother, Wayne Horton of Wichita Falls, Texas.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Monahans Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Chris Powell officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family request any donations be made to First Baptist Church of Monahans or Home Hospice of Andrews.
