Herbert Reed Johnson, born on September 22, 1942, in Mountain Pine, AR, peacefully passed away on April 16, 2024, in Sugar Land, TX. Herbert, a skilled Commercial Carpenter in the Construction industry, devoted his life to his craft. He showed great commitment and dedication to his work, never failing to impress those around him.
Having attended school in Monahans before completing his education in Oklahoma, Herbert eventually settled in Seattle, Washington, where he spent over 50 vibrant years. He was a sociable man, known for his warm smile and welcoming demeanor. Herbert found joy in the simple pleasures of life, often indulging in rounds of golf, relaxing days at the beach, and cherishing moments spent with his beloved grandchildren.
In his later years while residing in Texas, Herbert rededicated his life to Christ. He found solace and strength in his faith as he navigated life's journey.
Herbert was preceded in death by his parents, Eldridge and Lula Johnson.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Alisa Gans, and son in law, Franklin Gans Jr.; two grandsons, Franklin Trey Gans III and Timothy Reed Gans; two sisters, Hazel Lofton and Pearly Washington, both of Seattle, Washington, who will continue to carry his legacy forward.
A small viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Harkey Funeral Home. A Graveside Service to honor and remember Herbert will take place at Monahans Memorial Cemetery on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at 11:00 am with Pastor Jeppie Wilson officiating. Friends and family are invited to gather as we celebrate the life of this remarkable man and bid him farewell with the utmost respect.
