Ismael Marquez, 46, of Monahans, TX, passed from this life on Saturday, March 15, 2025. He was born in Monahans, TX on October 21, 1978, to Rosa Zamarron Subia and Ismael Marquez.
He was a kind-hearted and loving soul, always bringing joy and laughter wherever he went. Known for his goofy sense of humor, he was the life of every party, lighting up any room with his infectious energy. Whether he was dancing, singing, or pulling off a practical joke, his playful nature kept everyone on their toes and smiling. A true fan of the Steelers, his passion for his team was matched only by his deep love and loyalty to his friends and family. He was someone who made every moment memorable, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
He is survived by his children, daughter, Brianna Marquez and husband, Alonzo Rocamontes; son, Ismael Marquez; daughter, Julyssa Marquez; daughter, Sandy Valencia Marquez; his brothers, Inez Hernandez, Marcos Hernandez, Maurilio (Nony) Hernandez and his wife, Gail, Ruben Hernandez and his wife, Elsa, Jessie Marquez and his wife, Gina; sisters, Dora Whitt and her husband, Jimmy, and Denys Subia; his stepdad, Jesus Subia; his grandchildren, Ysaiel and Ezra Marquez; several nieces and nephews; along with extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosa Zamarron Subia and Ismael Marquez; his grandparents, Martina Balderas and Elauterio Marquez, Maria Baeza and Cruz Zamarron; and brother, Maurilio Hernandez.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Harkey Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at St. John’s Catholic Church at 7:00 PM. A Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 21, 2025, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Monahans, TX, with Father Joe officiating. Burial will follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers are as follows: Marcelino Marquez, Christopher Hernandez, Matthew Leyva, Malachi Leyva, Sebastian Thompson, and Ethan Ramon. Honorary pallbearers are as follows: Alonzo Rocamontes, Julio Vasquez, Oscar Ramon, and Sammy Muñiz.
