Ivory Scurlark, 96, formerly Monahans, passed away on April 28, 2017 in El Paso, Texas. She was born September 24, 1920 in Crockett, TX in Houston County to Anthony and Savanah Smith, where she was raised. She met Cleo Scurlark in Crockett they were married September 24, 1936 in Lovelady, TX. In 1945 the Scurlarks moved to Stanton, TX from Crockett. They later moved to Monahans in 1966. Mrs. Scurlark worked as a cook in Monahans Schools and at the State School in Pyote. She later moved to Alamogordo, NM in 2010. She was an Active member of Shiloh Baptist Church and Holy Temple COGIC in Alamogordo, NM.
Ivory is preceded in death by her husband, Cleo who died in 2008, as well as her parents, 4 brothers and 5 sisters, 4 grandchildren, Kenneth Kitchen, Anthony Scurlark, Alan Ruth, and Robert Ruth, son-in-law James Boysaw.
She is survived by one son, Troy L. Scurlark and wife Marva of Mesquite TX; three daughters, Lula Mae Scurlark Kitchen and husband Roosevelt of Alamogordo, NM, Cloteal Scurlark Boysaw of Monahans, TX, and Eunice Scurlark Ruth of Alamogordo, NM; two sisters, Lorine McKnight of Lovelady, TX and Alma Nolan of Sacramento, Ca; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
