Monahans

It is with great sadness that the family of James Marlow announce his passing on Wednesday February 5, 2025, at the age of 64.

James was born in San Diego, California in 1961 and moved to Monahans with his family around 1969. Upon graduating Monahans High School in 1979, James enlisted in the United States Navy and successfully completed the Naval Nuclear Power Program. Once James was Honorably Discharged from his services as a Machinist Mate Petty officer 2nd class, he spent his time around Monahans as a mechanic, welder and a carpenter.

In his spare time, you could find James gathered with his friends in the evening exchanging a variety of stories, always finding ways to prove his way of doing thing was the right way (and he was almost always correct) and working on miscellaneous projects with his "boy" (son). Having a love for fishing, James enjoyed spending time on the water in Toledo Bend. Anyone who had crossed paths with James knew he was known for dropping anything he was doing to lend a hand to those who ask and using his famous statement, "That's a fascinating concept!"

James is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Inga Marlow; and nephew, Adam Rutherford.

James will be lovingly remembered by his son, Kevin Marlow and wife Paige; sister, Louise Dishner; grandchildren, Kinsley, Annalise, and Everett Marlow; niece, Stevie Wagar and husband, Noah; nephews, Grayson, Elliot, and Anthony Wagar.

Bonus family and loved ones that James considered his own include Kacey Huckabee-Kidney and wife, Sherri; Shannon Huckabee; grandchildren, Lexie Porras and husband, Tyus; along with their children Ivan, Leila, and Tyson.

A private family service and memorial will take place at a later date.
