James A. McLaren, 79, of Monahans, was reunited with his wife, Shirley E. McLaren on Mother's Day, May 10, 2015 at 6:40 PM. He was born October 10, 1935 in Big Spring, TX to Malcolm H. and Adah Marie (Curtis) McLaren.
He served in the Army National Guard and worked for Texas Electric, where he retired. He loved his family, golf, and fishing.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Shirley McLaren; parents, Malcolm & Adah McLaren; and brother, R. C. McLaren.
James is survived by his son, Jamye Doss McLaren of San Diego, CA; daughters, Tamara Cecelle Gardner and husband Kenneth W. Gardner of Odessa and Robynn Korye Kilby and husband Jason C. Kilby of Culpeper, VA; sister, Maybeth Allen of Ft. Campbell, TN; 3 grandchildren, Shayla C. Beard and husband Ricky R. Beard, Kenny W. Gardner and wife Kirsten M. Gardner, and Lorynn E. Kilby; and 3 great-grandchildren, Morgan E. Beard, Reagan R. Beard, and Jayden W. Gardner.
Viewing will be held Thursday, May 14, 2015 from 10 AM - 8 PM at Harkey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation from 3 - 6 PM. Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 1 PM at Gooseneck Cemetery in Graham, TX.
