Jerry Morgan

August 25, 1941 — January 15, 2017

Jerry Morgan was born August 25, 1941 in Seymour, Texas. He was raised on a farm between Seymour, Texas and Megargel, Texas, where he attended school. He was the seventh of eight children born to Marion and Ethel Morgan.

Jerry graduated from Megargel High School in 1959. He married Sandra Henexson on June 3, 1961, in Olney, Texas. The couple then moved to Pecos, Texas, and Jerry went to work for Coca Cola. In June of 1965, they were blessed with their first child and only daughter, Nichole Layne. In July of 1968 they welcomed their second child and oldest son, Jarod Shane. Jerry then became employed with Halliburton. The company transferred the family to Monahans, Texas, in 1973. They welcomed their third child and youngest son, Jason Lance in September of 1976.

Jerry continued to work for Halliburton in various capacities, including cementing, acid, fracking, and his final position of field supervisor and district salesman. He received various awards, including the Million Mile award in 1998, and a thirty-year service award in 1998. He retired from Halliburton in 2000, with 32 years of service. During his retirement, he worked as an independent consultant in the oil and gas industry, leaving plenty of time to spend with his grandchildren. He loved to give them tractor and Corvette rides and attend their various activities. Jerry was kind-hearted, honest, generous, and very loving. Jerry and Sandra attended Crossroads Fellowship Church and lived to spend time with their family.

Jerry passed away on January 15, 2017. He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Sandra Kay.

Jerry is survived by his children, Nichole Morgan Venters and husband Rodney, Jarod Morgan, and Dr. Jason Morgan and wife Holley; and his six grandchildren, Cameron Morgan, Nicholas Venters, Mason Morgan, Maddox Morgan, Hudson Morgan, and Hollis Morgan.
