Jesus Olivas Porras

The Lord called upon his son Jesus Olivas Porras who passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024, in Monahans, Tx at the age of 66. Jesus was born in Palomas Numero Uno, Mexico on March 10, 1958, to Calixto and Delia Porras.

Jesus married the love of his life Juana, on December 15, 1976, in Palomas Numero Uno, Mexico. They moved to Monahans, Tx in 1978 to start life together, they were married for 48 years and had four sons.

Visitations for Jesus will be held Sunday July 14th from 1-5pm and on Monday July 15th from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. at Harkey Funeral Home.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Tuesday July 16th at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Monahans, Tx with Noel Porras and Larry Jasso officiating. A burial will follow at the Monahans Memorial Cemetery.

We are saying goodbye to a man that had always put his family first, a man that worked hard in every aspect of his life till his very last breath. Jesus was loved by many, he shared his love of music, his animals and his friends who called him “Prieto.” He knew no stranger and he welcomed everyone with open arms; to know him was to love him.

Jesus is preceded in death by his mother, Delia Porras.

He is survived by his wife, Juana Porras; his sons, Adan Porras and wife, Jessica Porras, Rojelio Porras and wife, Tracie Porras, Dimas Porras and wife, Amber Porras, Jesus Porras Jr. and wife, Chasity Porras; his father, Calixto Porras; his 10 siblings; and his 11 grandchildren.

Services are under the direction of Harkey Funeral Home. Join us on Tuesday to celebrate the life of Jesus Olivas Porras, it is not a goodbye but a see you later.
