Jewel (Jo) Allison passed away peacefully on Monday, March 7, 2022, at the age of 95. Jewel was born on May 4, 1926, in Maddock, North Dakota to Roland Ellefson and Alice Berg.
Jewel married her navy sailor L.B. Allison in Tillamaook, Oregon on August 16,1944. Jewel loved traveling to foreign countries and touring most of Europe, Africa, riding camels, viewing the pyramids, and exploring castles. During the 62 years they were together.
The time consumed at their home in Wickett was going to high school athletics both home and away. She also enjoyed gardening, oil painting, participating in chili cook offs, and senior swimming at the pool with the ladies, and reading reading reading.
She is preceded in death by her husband L.B. Allison, two sisters Loraine, (Honey) Donna and two daughters Donna Louise, and Jo Alice.
Jewel is survived by daughter Christine, 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren who will always refer to her as “Granny.”
The family would like to give a special thanks to Focused Care of Monahans, Midland Memorial Hospital, and hospice for making her last days as comfortable as possible.
Jewel will have a gathering of family and friends on Wednesday March 9,2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Harkey funeral home. Her services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church on 1500 south Main Street in Monahans on Thursday, March 10,2022 at 2:00p.m. With her burial to precede.
