John Ford, Jr.

John Ford, Jr. 86 of Monahans died in Odessa on June 20, 2017 at a care facility. He was born August 15, 1930 in Greenville, Texas to Allie Mae Sexton and John Harvey Ford. John served in the US Army and is a Korean War veteran serving in Korea. Shortly after his discharge in 1952 he moved to Monahans and began a career in the oil patch. He met and married Patsy Jane Wade on June 13, 1954 in Monahans. He worked for several drilling companies as a roughneck, longest working for Parker drilling, working as a motorman. He later joined Chemical Tech where he worked until he retired at age 72. John was a "Good Ole County Gentleman", an avid fisherman, loved football and watching people as life passed by. Collected many different things - Always had parts for everything.
He is preceded in death by his wife Patsy in 2013 and son Gary in 2010, great grandchildren twins, William and Wynter Ford; his sister; Pauline Rodgers and 3 brothers; Truman Ford, Robert Ford and Kenneth Ford.
Survivors include his daughter, Lugene Leek and husband Mike of Monahans; son, Bobby Ford of Monahans, and daughter-in-law, Stephanie Ford of Odessa. 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren
