Sr. Jorge Luis Nieto Ramirez, 64 years old, passed away on September 16, 2022 in Ojinaga, Chihuahua.
Jorge was born on February 6, 1958 in Ojinaga, Chihuahua to Lorenzo Nieto and Elpidia Ramirez and raised in Tierras Nuevas. As a teenager, he would work alongside his dad to help maintain the family ranch. He enjoyed riding horses alongside his dad taking the cows to feed and then would grow crops such as alfalfa and wheat. He embraced living the cowboy lifestyle throughout his life.
As a profession, he worked in the oilfield industry as a foreman for more than 20 years with Flint Energy and other companies.
His hobbies included fishing, cooking chivo, taking care of his horses, and dancing the night away with his wife. At family gatherings, he would barbeque for everyone and set up a pinata for the kids. He was a skilled mechanic repairing vehicles and loved riding motorcycles.
He met the love of his life in his late teens where they began dating. Jokingly he asked “When is your birthday, is it February 6th 1958?” and she shockingly said “How did you know?” only to find out that they were born on the exact same day and year. They continued their relationship and eventually moved to the US where they got married and raised two sons. He would enjoy traveling and vacationing with his family driving all across the country. Jorge and his wife, Hortencia, celebrated their 40th Anniversary on August 9, 2022. Their love only grew stronger over the years as he would always show signs of affection through romantic gestures.
He loved to watch movies, wrestling, and go out to dinner outings with the family especially if there were mariachis involved. He would share multiple laughs with his wife and sons and he was quite the jokester and showman.
He is survived by his wife, Hortencia Nieto; Children (David Nieto, Jorge Nieto Jr.); Brothers (Manuel Polanco, Jesus Manuel Nieto); Sister In Law (Maria Olga Cerda & Husband, Maria Cruz Najar, Hilda Vazquez & Husband, Elida Rodriguez & Husband); Brother In Law (Hector Venegas & Wife); Godchildren (Guadalupe Nieto, Daisy Venegas)
Jorge is preceded in death by his parents (Lorenzo Nieto & Elpidia Ramirez).
He will also be remembered and dearly missed by numerous cousins, nieces/nephews, and friends.
