It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jose Antonio Ramirez. Known for his gentle spirit and warm smile, Jose's untimely departure has left a void that will be felt by all those whose lives he touched. He passed away tragically on September 4, 2023, in Monahans, Texas.
Born on September 7, 1972, in this very community that he called home, Jose was a cherished member of the Monahans family. A man of many passions, he found solace collecting coins, enjoying the great outdoors through camping and fishing, and avidly cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys. Jose also had a deep appreciation for the simplicity and beauty of western movies, often finding comfort and inspiration in their narratives. With green thumbs and a nurturing nature, he delighted in tending to his flourishing garden, providing a serene oasis within his own backyard.
Jose's education began and flourished in Monahans, where he attended school and developed the foundation for his lifelong journey. Throughout his working years, he applied his skills as a dedicated Welder, leaving behind a legacy of craftsmanship and commitment.
Jose is survived by his loving wife, Maribel Ramirez, who shared in the joys and triumphs of life by his side. He was a cherished father to his children, Dominic, Raquel, Chito, Cheyenne, Marcos, Alexis and 6 grandchildren. He was also a caring brother to his siblings, Leonel, Corina, Ariel, Ambrosio, Arnulfo, Guillermo, Michelle, Omar, and Jaquin, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
The funeral service to honor and celebrate Jose's life will be held at Harkey Funeral Home on September 8, 2023, at 11:00 am with Pastor Gordon Cox officiating. Friends, family, and community members are encouraged to gather in support and remembrance of a life well-lived. Following the service, Jose will be laid to rest at 400 S. Helen Ave, Monahans, TX 79756, in a peaceful burial ceremony.
