Juana Lopez

Juana Reyes Lopez, 99, of Monahans, Texas passed away surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, November 8, 2020. She was born in Sweetwater, Texas to her parents Miguel and Simona Reyes on October 22, 1921.

Juana was a homemaker who cherished her all her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband Epifanio Lopez. Juana was an excellent cook who loved cooking for all her family. She enjoyed the outdoors, sitting outside and watching her birds, gardening, along with visiting with her brothers and sister outside in the garage. Juana was the champion of dominos; she never met a person she couldn’t beat. Some of her favorite moments were going into her room and listening to her Spanish music on her cassette tapes. She absolutely loved going to the farm and feeding all the animals.

She is proceeded in death by her parents Miguel and Simona Reyes, husband Epifanio Lopez, children; Vivian Lopez and Susie Lara, brothers; Antonio Reyes, Felipe Reyes, Frank Reyes and Mike Reyes, sister Clara Ponce.

Juana is survived by her children; Paula Najar, Frances Lopez, Cruz Lopez, Epifanio (Nino) Lopez, Lisa Gonzalez and Priscilla Martinez. Her two brothers; Vidal Reyes and Placido Reyes and sister Monica Anaya, Twenty grandchildren and sixty great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will include Justin Lopez, Jimmy Gonzalez, Eddie Lopez, Trini Lara, Zach Martinez and Mike Lara.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Harkey Funeral Home from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Monahans on Friday, November 13, 2020 at 10:00am, burial to follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery.
