Julian C. Hernandez, 91, passed away on December 10, 2020 in Monahans, Texas. He was born in Presidio, Texas. He was born to Gregorio and Maria Hernandez on August 6, 1929.
He married the love of his life Rosa Hernandez on November 1952. They lived in Barstow and Coyanosa before making their home in Monahans, Texas. He worked in the cotton gins for 7 years, then for the Highway Department for 24 years and Ward County for 12 years before retiring.
Julian enjoyed life and was very active until the end. He had a zeal for life and a heart for people. He never met a stranger. He loved making trips to Coyanosa to buy watermelons and cantaloupes to give away. His favorite pastime was watching wrestling and nothing could pull him away from that. His family was everything to him and he loved his little twin boy Kaleb Lundy. He was a man of great faith. His favorite saying was “Primeramente Dios, Dios por adelante ye nosotros por atras.”
He is preceded in death by his wife Rosa D. Hernandez, his parents Gregorio and Maria Hernandez, daughter Lucia Hernandez, grandson Omero Hernandez, brother Manuel Hernandez, sisters Maria de Jesus Madrid and Amelia Morales.
He is survived by his brother Antonio Hernandez, three sons Orlando (Connie) Hernandez, Omedo (Rufina) Hernandez and Roy (Loretta) Hernandez, 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers for the service will be Rene Madrid, Danny Hernandez, Oscar Flores, Manuel Hernandez, Daniel Rocha and Luven Flores Jr.
