Larry Lackey

Larry Lackey,78, of Monahans, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2019 in Odessa, TX. He was born on January 4, 1941 in San Antonio, TX, to J.C. and Dorothy Lackey. Larry married Audrey in 1959, and they eventually made their home, with their 3 daughters, in Monahans. After retiring, from a 21-year career at Halliburton, he took up a hobby as a locksmith, which turned into a 25-year profession. He enjoyed hunting and fishing trips with his friends and family, during his spare time. Larry is survived by his wife, Audrey of 59 years, and their 3 daughters, Celia Bowen and husband Jeff, of Odessa, TX. Lorrie Andrews and husband John, of Monahans, TX. Penny Neeley and husband Mike, of Olfen, TX. 7 Granddaughters, Brea Green, Vikki Barnes, Brooke Ulrich, Jennifer Tidwell, Baylee Ulrich, Brittany Cobos, and Beth Ulrich. Also, 8 great grandchildren, his mother Dorothy Lackey of Johnson City, TX. Siblings, D'Ann Elledge, and Jaime Hassrodt, many nieces and nephews, and his dog, Tippy. Larry is preceded in death by his father, J.C. Lackey, and his brother, Rod Lackey. A visitation will be held, Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Harkey Funeral Home from 6-8pm. The funeral services will be held at Crossroads Church 301 S. Bruce Street in Monahans at 10:00am on Thursday, March 28, 2019.
