Lynn Woods, 58, of Odessa, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Medical Center Hospital. She was born October 30, 1956 in Greenville, MS to Johnny Rasco and Patricia Ann Waters.
She received her CNA license in 1991 and worked for MCH, the Salvation Army, several nursing homes in Odessa and at Monahans Managed Care Center. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing dress-up with her granddaughters, bible studies, and arts and crafts.
Lynn was her grandchildren's biggest fan in the stands at their sporting events. She was a natural caregiver and always had love for everyone. As a young lady, she was exuberant in everything she did. She loved her Pomeranian, "Baby," as if she was her own child; even brushed her dog's teeth. Lynn loved country music and would dance around while cleaning the house with the music blaring. She had really, really long, natural fingernails and enjoyed getting her manicure and pedicures. She read stones to her granddaughter every night before bedtime. She battled diabetes and other illnesses for many years. She was a "mom" to all of her kids' friends and "mema" to all of her grandchildren's friends. Much like her father, she never met a stranger.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Alan Woods; and parents, Harold and Patsy Callaway.
Lynn is survived by her son, David Ellis Wilson, Jr. of Kilgore and stepson, A.J. Woods of Odessa; daughter, Taralynn Wilson of Odessa; stepdaughters, April Woods of Tampa, FL and Taylor Woods of Odessa; brothers, David Wayne Callaway of Lubbock and Harold Bruce Callaway of Tuscan, AZ; sisters, Debra Lynn Ford of Monahans and Teresa Ann Stanton of Odessa; 7 grandchildren, Alexis Breann Navarrette of Odessa, Sabastain Rai' Woods of Tampa, FL, Stacie Renee Lopez and Sydney LeAnn James of Odessa, Christian Dravyn Wilson and Haeleigh Danyelle Wilson of Union Grove, and Ricky Antonio Arguello of Odessa; and 5 nieces and 11 nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 13, 2015 from 9 AM - 8 PM at Harkey Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 1 PM at Harkey Funeral Home chapel, followed by interment at Monahans Memorial Cemetery.
