Marcella Mae McCarthy Rebertus

Marcella Mae McCarthy Rebertus, 96, of Monahans, passed away on August 22, 2024, in Monahans, TX. She was born in Des Moines, lowa, to William Joseph McCarthy and Lura Almeda Jacobs McCarthy on March 31, 1928, and graduated from North High School in Des Moines.

 In 1948 she and Wayne Douglas Rebertus were married. Their 67-year marriage produced three children: Douglas Wayne (Sheila) of Rockbridge, Ohio, Russell Alan (Diane) of Gloucester, Virginia, and Karen Ann Crumrine (Cory) of Monahans, Texas; six grandchildren, Douglas Crumrine (Kristin), Emily Rebertus Hunt, Laura Crumrine Stiles (Andy), Katie Rebertus Lanfrank (Robert), Luke Rebertus (Kelly), and Kara Lee Rebertus Wyne (Joshua); and fifteen great-grandchildren: Brienna, Zachary, Broc, Joey, Avery, Cora, Alexia, Sophia, Ella, Kathryn, Charlotte, Jackson, Vivien, Oliver, and Violet. 

Marcella enjoyed the Red Hat Society, arts & crafts, and games of all types. She spent many hours volunteering at her church. Because of Wayne's work with Phillips Petroleum, they lived many places. She and Wayne enjoyed many years traveling the world together until his death in 2016.

 Husband Wayne, her parents, a brother, William McCarthy, and sister Carol Smith predeceased her. 

Services will be held at Monahans Memorial Cemetery, August 29, 2024, at 11:00 am with Barry Callahan officiating.
