Marciano F. Diaz-
As 1 of 9 brothers and sisters born to Teresa and Jesus Diaz in Del Rio, Texas, Marciano
first awoke to this world on January 11, 1926 and went to sleep, never to wake again on January 13, 2018.
He went to sleep surrounded in love by those closest to him: wife of 62 years Azucena Diaz and sons Javier and Marciano Jr.
He learned his work ethic at an early age by "working the ranch" while a student in school.
Following school, he served his country and traveled the world in the US Navy. Upon arrival he married the love of his life, Susie" and they moved to Monahans where he began his career as a Highway Engineer for the Texas Highway Department, where he worked until his retirement.
His passion was "building things", which greatly understated his skills as a carpenter and woodworker.
Another passion was giving all his love to his Grandchildren: Matthew, Myrissa and Storey Diaz and his Great Grandson Keston Javier Diaz.
Marciano enjoyed a very fulfilling life and will never be forgotten by those that crossed paths with him, especially his family!
He was preceded in death by his mother and father and brothers Daniel, Lucio and Arturo as well as sisters Matilda Guerrero, Ramona Ortiz, Amanda Cruz and Margarita Moreno.
Services will be held Wednesday, January 17 at 10AM at St John's Catholic Church in Monahans followed by a private burial.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to The Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org or The American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
