Maria Rodriguez

Maria de la Luz Rodriguez was born on January 9, 1920 in San Vicente, Coahuila, Mexico to Jose Maria Rodriguez and Maria De Jesus Gonzalez. Luz was a dedicated mother to her daughter, Maria de Jesus Morales de Santiago, her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The love and center of her life was her lord and savior Jesus Christ whom she shared with everyone she came in contact with. She dedicated herself to caring for her family, cooking, sewing, quilting, and gardening. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Grandfalls Spanish Mission.

She is preceded by her parents, and dearly loved daughter Maria.

She is survived by her grandson; Thomas Santiago of Monahans, Texas, granddaughters; Dora Chavez and husband Ben of Midland, Texas, Elizabeth Rodriguez and husband Ruben of Monahans, Texas, Great grandchildren; Myra, Marisela, Nathan Chavez of Midland, Texas, Alexander Rodriguez of Monahans, Texas, and numerous nephews and nieces whom she loved dearly.

Viewing will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018, and Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Harkey Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., family visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 15, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Grandfalls, Texas, burial will follow at Tamarisk Cemetery in Grandfalls, Texas with Rev. Arvin Benjamin Chavez, and Buck Love officiating.
