Maria Sanchez

Maria Luisa Vargas Sanchez, 84, passed away on January 13, 2018 in Monahans, Texas. She was born on August 26, 1933 to Baltazar Vargas and wife Maria in Presidio, Texas. Maria Luisa married the love of her life Francisco O. Sanchez in Monahans, Texas, whom passed away in 2013.

She enjoyed spending her free time solving cross word puzzles. Most of all she loved spending her time with family, and friends.

Maria Luisa is preceded in death by her loving husband; Francisco O. Sanchez, parents; Baltazar and Maria Vargas, brothers; Baltazar Vargas, Reynaldo Vargas, Abel Vargas, sisters; Lucy Anderson, Enedina Gonzales, and Antonia Tavarez.

She is survived by her daughter; Sylvia Sanchez, son; Frankie Sanchez and wife Randi, three grandsons; George Hernandez III, Joshua A. Hernandez, Tyler Hernandez, three granddaughters; Courtney Boyd and husband Brian, Chelsea Sanchez, Gracie Sanchez, five great grandchildren; Francisco Hernandez, Adalyna Hernandez, Ember Sanchez, Chloe Boyd, Domnik Sepeda, brothers; Jose Angel Vargas, Andres Vargas, sisters; Teresa Tavarez, Viviana Portillo, and Manuela Leyva.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 16, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Harkey Funeral Home in Monahans, Texas. Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Monahans, Texas. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 18, 2018 at St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Monahans, Texas burial will follow at Tamarisk Cemetery in Grandfalls, Texas.

In lieu of flowers family will accept donations to offset funeral expenses.
