Maria Magdalena Kidd, 96, of Grandfalls, Texas passed away on May 9, 2020 in Grandfalls, Texas at her home.
Maria was born in Grandfalls to Benancio and Felicitas Aguilar on May 25, 1923.
She was the first Hispanic student to be admitted to the High school in Grandfalls, Texas where she graduated. She prided herself on playing the trumpet in the band. Maria furthered her education with two years of college at the University of Texas Wesleyan in Fort Worth, Texas. She was married to Clifford L. Kidd on August 30, 1945. Together, they had a lumber yard business, which she continued to run till after his death. In 1980, she became her son’s bookkeeper when he started a flying business. Maria was very instrumental in helping raise her grandchildren. She loved the Dallas Cowboys!
Maria is preceded in death by her Husband; Clifford Kidd, daughter; Louise Kidd, brothers; Nicanor Aguilar, Sabino Aguilar and Benito Aguilar and granddaughter; Kimberly Kidd.
She is survived by her son; Clifford Kidd Jr., brother; Valente Aguilar, sister; Marcelina Bernard, 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at 6:00pm at her home located at 210 7th Street in Grandfalls, Texas. Funeral mass will be held 11:00am Thursday, May 14, 2020 at St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Grandfalls, Texas. Burial will follow at Tamarisk Cemetery.
