On February 5, 2025, Melvin LeRoy Case, Sr. passed from this earth at his home surrounded by his son and granddaughters. LeRoy was born on December 18, 1938, in Worland, WY to Leo and Doris Case. He married Dean Hash on February 8, 1964, and to that union was born a son, Melvin LeRoy Case, Jr. Years later, after Dean’s death, LeRoy married Tommie Paul of Monahans.

As a young man, LeRoy served in the Army Reserves and was called to active duty during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was always very proud of his service to his country.

LeRoy lived and worked in and around Monahans for his entire married life. He started with Cox Transports in 1964 and remained with them through many acquisitions, retiring in 2010.

LeRoy enjoyed spending his spare time at Possum Kingdom Lake and Lake LBJ where he spent many hours fishing and relaxing. He was also passionate about classic automobiles. He was known as an expert pool player, country western dancer, and an excellent mechanic.

Later in life, LeRoy lived with his son and granddaughters and his life centered around them. He attended numerous cheerleading events, track meets, volleyball, and football games cheering on his favorite Loboes, Breanna and Anslee.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Doris Case; his sisters, Donna Christner and Wanda Leonard; his first wife, Dean; and his second wife, Tommie.

LeRoy is survived by his son, LeRoy, Jr.; his granddaughters, Breanna and Anslee, all of Monahans. His sister, Gloria Nelson (Vaughn) of Farmington, NM; and his brothers, Harry Case (Bonita) of Scottsbluff, NE, and Leonard Case (Tanya) of Duncan, OK. He is also survived by other family members and friends.

The family invites family and friends to join them in a memorial service to be held at First Baptist Church of Monahans on Saturday, February 15th at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Monahans Volunteer Fire Department at P. O. Box 573, Monahans, TX 79756.
