Melvin Robert Craft

Melvin Robert Craft, 74, of Monahans passed away on October 22, 2024, in Monahans, Texas. Melvin was born in Big Spring, Tx to Robert (Motor) and Ella Craft on December 15, 1949.

Melvin graduated from Monahans High School in 1968. He married Lillie Stafford on March 29, 1969. He worked in the oil industry starting his career with BJ Oil, later working for Kuykendall wireline before starting Craft Wireline Services with his dad.

He was a member of the Monahans Volunteer Fire Department for 27 years. A director for the Ward County Livestock Show and served as swine superintendent and a past president. He spent many years cooking for the 4H sale. He loved fishing, working cattle with his buddies Steve and Billy, and going to the casino with Stefan. Melvin was also an avid Monahans Lobo football fan; he loved the Loboes and his community, but it was spending time with his family that he loved most. His children and grandchildren meant so much to him.

Melvin is preceded in death by his grandparents; and his father, Robert (Motor) Craft.

He is survived by his wife, Lillie Craft of Monahans; his three children, Todd Craft of San Angelo, Aaron Craft and wife, Heather, of Evant, Farrah Neves, and husband, Micah, of Andrews; his mother, Ella Craft of Monahans; nine grandchildren, Grace, Emma, Cody, Christopher, Allison, Caden, Colton, Mason, John; many extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at the Ward County Coliseum, officiated by Billy Riley. A lunch will be provided by the Monahans Volunteer Fire Department following the service. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Monahans Volunteer Fire Department in honor of Melvin.
