Michael Harold Hokerk

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Harold Hokerk, who departed this life peacefully on April 12, 2025. Michael, a beloved husband, father, and loyal friend, was 60 years old at the time of his passing.

Born on July 9, 1964, Michael lived a life filled with love and laughter in Monahans, Texas. He will be remembered for his zest for life, his warm spirit, and his love for family and friends. Michael's favorite moments were often spent surrounded by loved ones, sharing stories over a cold beer, and enjoying the comfort of evenings spent watching television. His four devoted dogs were a constant source of joy and companionship, and they brought him comfort in both good times and in bad.

Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at Harkey Funeral Home. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Michael’s life will be held at Harkey Funeral Home on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Following the service, Michael will be laid to rest at Monahans Memorial Cemetery.

Michael is preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Hokerk; his stepson, Greg E. Sanchez; and his grandfather, Sunny Lochabay.

He is survived by his devoted spouse, Yolanda Hokerk of Monahans; father, Gary Hokerk of Monahans; sister, Paula Hokerk and spouse, Daniel Wetzig of Monahans; sister, Lisa Hayes, and spouse, Bryan of Midland, Tx; grandchildren, Devon Sanchez and spouse, Nayali of Odessa, Noveah Dyer and spouse, Aidan of Lubbock; great grandchild, Ezra Sanchez of Odessa; daughter in law, Aurora Sanchez of Monahans; niece, Stephanie Hayes; nephew, Justin Hayes of Midland; and many friends and family.
