Nancy Carol Willmon

February 14, 1943 — April 14, 2025

Monahans

Nancy Willmon, 82 of Monahans, Texas, passed away on April 14, 2025, in Midland, Texas. She was born in Merkel, Texas, to Celia and Doyle Humphreys on February 14, 1943.

Nancy attended and graduated from Lovington, N.M High School in 1961. She married Bobby Trent in 1962. She had 2 children, Christi in 1963 & Mark in 1967. When her son Mark was in first grade his teacher asked him to say ONE WORD their mom always says. Mark answer was “NOW” surely not because she had to tell Mark more than once, maybe because when she wanted something done, she wanted it done NOW. She worked to raise Christi & Mark, as well as she could on her own for 7 years before finally finding the love of her life, Gary.

She attended Beauty School & worked at Vickie’s Hair Salon. She later changed back to her bookkeeping job at T& B Enterprises, in Denver City, Texas.

Nancy met Gary Willmon in February 1981, and by April 10, 1981, Gary asked her to marry him to stop the outrageous phone bills, since they enjoyed talking every night for hours! They married and joined their families to now have 4 children. She worked at Burke Welding Supply as a bookkeeper. Then to work at T&B Transport, then McKay’s Furniture Store. Nancy went to work for Star Electric, bookkeeping, in Wickett, Texas where she retired. Later, they put Gary to work in his own business, G & N Pumping. (Gary & Nancy’s Pumping) where she did the bookkeeping, and that would be where they both retired from in 2023. The best bookkeeper a company could have.

Together, Gary and Nancy took 30-day vacations every year and enjoyed their lives together, travelling and bowling. They came home from a trip to MD Anderson. They opened the garage door and her son had backed in a 1965 Mustang Gt with, “LOVE YOU MOM” on the windshield. After 7 years of treatment she beat cancer.

Nancy was smart, talented, and had the prettiest smile and brown eyes you've ever seen. She loved her family and friends, with all her heart. Her mom would call her Casey Jones since she was always determined to do whatever she wanted. Casey Jones was a train conductor who was known for his exceptionally punctual schedule, which sometimes required a degree of risk. Nancy was always punctual & took care of her business.

Nancy was the sister of 4 siblings and the next to the youngest. She made her own paper dolls, designed all their clothes, purses, shoes, hats, & accessories. She sang like an angel. She painted like Bob Ross. She made beautiful jewelry. There wasn't anything she couldn't do if she wanted. She also sewed a lot of clothes for her family & friends. She would say they were "made especially for you by Nancy" on her tags.

Nancy would crochet, knit, embroidery, macrame, all sorts of crafts. She had all kinds of hobbies, antique store shopping, bowling, OLD cars, FAST cars, painting, travelling, cooking, baking, watching after all her kids and grandkids, even after they were all grown, no matter how old they were.

The family of Nancy Willmon wishes to extend their most sincere thanks to Midland Memorial and to all her family and friends who kept her in prayer.

She put up a good fight, like we all knew she would. She is now home with her heavenly Father, with no more pain, walking on streets of gold.

Nancy & Gary were married for 44 wonderful years. They promised to take care of each other for the rest of their lives. They did just that. Gary held her hand to the end. It's been an amazing life and family.

She’s always been one to keep everyone trusting in God and knowing that they can do anything they put their mind to with God on their side.
