Even though our hearts are heavy, we know Narvell is free of pain and is rejoicing in heaven. She was born February 16, 1933 and went to be with the Lord, April 28, 2015. She has left behind many loved ones and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Sam O'Bannon; parents, Marion and Naomi (Soloman) Yell; and sister, Wynell Green.
Narvell is survived by her sons, David Mitchell and wife Patty of Monahans and Michael Mitchell and wife Tonya of Weatherford; daughter, Angela Bledsoe and husband Otis of Odessa; sisters, Georgia Mae Border of Lake Sweetwater and Shirlen Driggers of Arlington; 8 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
During her school days, she was a great basketball player and was an avid, lifelong fan of the sport. Even though she could never get any of her grandchildren to participate in the sport, she encouraged them in the sports they chose!
She sold Avon for over 20 years and "retired" to become an active member of Monahans Senior Citizen's Center. She was involved in all aspects and was a member of the board. Her love for music and joking was evident in her participation in the "Review" held annually for many years.
Known for her radiant smile and witty personality, she was always energetic and ready to lend a hand to others.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2015 from 11 AM - 9 PM at Harkey Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 3:30 PM at Monahans Memorial Cemetery with David Lively officiating.
