On September 28, 2024, Natalio Jaquez Gomez passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family in Monahans, TX at the age of 82. Born on October 11, 1941, in Pecos, TX, Natalio was a man of strength and joy. His love for fishing, travel, western movies, boxing, and cruising along back roads outlined his adventurous spirit. His fondness for a cold Bud light beer and red enchiladas added flavors to his vibrant life.
Natalio's journey is marked by the love of his family who walked life's winding paths with him. He is reunited in eternal peace with his first wife, Erminia Chavez Gomez; son, Harvey Gomez; parents, Guillermo and Medenciana Gomez; sister, Diamantina Gomez Carreras; nephew, Larry Carreras; and niece, Diana Carreras.
Leaving behind cherished memories are his wife, Sophia Duarte; daughter, Elizabeth Ornelas and husband, Oscar; son, Michael Ray Gomez; daughter, Susanna Acosta and husband, Olimpo; son, Andrew Gomez and wife, Catherine. His legacy lives on through his eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and dear friends.
In honor of Natalio's life, a visitation will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Harkey Funeral Home. A rosary will be conducted at 7:00 PM during the visitation, allowing friends and family to come together to remember and pay their respects. Reflecting on Natalio's life, a mass will be held at St. John the Apostle and Evangelist Catholic Church on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 11:00 AM with Father Joe officiating. Following the mass, a burial will take place at Monahans Memorial Cemetery, where he will rest in peace.
Pallbearers are as follows: Anthony Acosta, Joey Juarez, Adrian Juarez, Sean Ornelas, Joe Duarte, Adolfo Almanza Jr., and Jace McKee.
