Oletta Pickering

Oletta Ann Pickering, 66, passed away on September 11, 2017 in Waco, Texas. Ann was born November 27, 1950 in Roscoe, Texas to Imogene and Lester "L.T." Pickering. The family moved to Monahans in 1957 and lived in several oilfield communities prior to making Monahans their home in 1964. Ann attended Monahans schools. She moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and worked for Parker Drilling. Returned to Monahans and later moved to Waco, TX.
Her and her mother created beautiful quilts and crochet, which they would display and sell, and give to many family members. She was a wonderful cook, she enjoyed cooking for her church family at 3rd and Dwight Church of Christ. She was best known for her fried chicken. Her love was being with and taking care of her family.
Preceded in death by her father, L.T. Pickering on May 25, 2006 and her mother Imogene on November 11, 2016.
Survived by her brother Louis Pickering and his wife Reva of Waco, TX. Nieces and nephews: David Pickering, Kathleen Pickering, and step-niece, Reva Dillard. Great nephews: Branden Pickering and Jake Hickman.
Graveside Services were held at 10:00 a.m., September 16, 2017 at Monahans Memorial Cemetery in Monahans, Texas with Billy Reed officiating.
