Orlando Garcia

February 10, 1988 — March 28, 2021

Orlando Ray Garcia, 33 of Monahans, Texas fell asleep in death on March 28th, 2021in Fort Worth, Texas.

Ray as everyone knew him by was born in Odessa, Texas to Cecilia Marie and Jose Encinas Garcia on February 10th, 1988.

Ray graduated from Monahans High School in 2007. Although he met Mariah his Sr. year, they didn’t become friends until 2014. They met up later through mutual friends in 2016 where their friendship grew to marriage proposal on 9/30/2017 at Disneyland in California. They married in Big Spring, Texas on February 29th, 2020. Ray always teased his wife about only having to celebrate their anniversary every 4 years, when in fact he let her choose what day to celebrate. They made Big Spring their home where they bought their house and settled to raise their son Benjamin. Benji gave purpose to Ray’s life, Ray was a firm and loving dad. He taught him to play baseball, soccer, and how to change a tire. He was instilling life skills for Benji to use throughout his life. They would spend time together sharing their common love for comics and games. Mariah was not only Ray’s wife; as he battled complications of diabetes she was his best friend, nurse, and soulmate. They helped and relied on one another, always putting family first.

The family wants Ray to be remembered by his rambunctious laugh, he was always full of life and never complained about his illness. Ray never held grudges, he felt it was a waste of time. He faced all his issues courageously and with an unbelievably positive mind. If you met Ray he was never a stranger. He was 100% down to Earth, loving, respectful and compassionate. He will be remembered by many.

Ray is preceded in death by his dad Jose Encinas Garcia (Kabuki) and grandparents Eleuterio and Marina Garcia, Robert Morris Sr. and Annie Mason Morris.

He is survived by his wife Mariah Dion Garcia (Valles-Hardaway) and son Benjamin. Sisters Diana Garcia (Eloy Brito), Briana Smith (Bryan Smith) Matthew Garcia (Alma Rosa), D’stani Morris, Mikalah Morris, Ashlynn Garcia, Ezequiel Garcia, and Ariana Garcia.
