Pedro Canava

Pedro M. Canava, 87, of Monahans, passed away Friday, June 12, 2015 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. He was born May 19, 1928 in Belton, TX to Apolinar and Renigia Canava.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Carmen L. Canava.

Pedro is survived by his sons, Felix Canava of Monahans, Frank Canava and wife Susie of Midland, Margarito Canava and wife Maribel of Odessa, Pete Canava of Lubbock, and Sammy Canava of Florida; daughters, Natalia Polendo of Cookston, MN, Esiquia Cortez and husband Jesse of Odessa, Petra Young of Odessa, and Faride C. Harvey and husband Eddie of Odessa; brother, Margarito Canava and wife Antonia of Andrews; sisters, Emily Canava of Fort Worth and Gregoria Rico of Altus, OK; 23 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 15, 2015 at 11 AM at Harkey Funeral Home with Pastor Marcus Zuniga officiating, followed by interment at Monahans Memorial Cemetery.
