Peggy Joyce Morphew

On Tuesday, November 21^st, 2023, Peggy Joyce Morphew, loving wife, mother of three children, grandma of six, and great grandma of thirteen, passed away at age 91.

Peggy was born on December 28, 1931, in Rule, TX to John and Mary Gibson. On December 3^rd, 1950, she married Sidney Dalton Morphew. They raised three daughters, Laurna, Geata, and Pam.

Peggy had a passion for all things family and was an amazing seamstress. She loved working with children and led the children’s program, Sunbeams, at Royalty Baptist Church. She also enjoyed working at Service Drug in Grandfalls. She filled her family’s lives with love, joy, and magic. Above all, Peggy made sure that everyone around her knew they were loved.

Peggy was preceded in death by her father, mother, two sisters, husband, and daughter.  She is survived by her two children, Laurna and Pam, her six grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Southside Baptist Church, 1402 South Main, Monahans, TX at 2 o’clock.  Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, PO Box 150, Grandfalls, TX 79742. Peggy will be laid to rest next to her loving husband, Dalton, and daughter Geata at the Grandfalls Cemetery following the service.
