Preston W. Vallie, 73 of Monahans died on November 1, 2021 in Monahans. He was born March 27, 1948 in Long Beach, California. As the Vallie family followed the oilfield Preston attended several schools in Texas, Arizona, and Pennsylvania where he graduated from Cumberland Valley High School in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. He continued his education at the Junior College level but became self-taught on computers and software. He owned and operated Friendly Computers in Odessa. He retired in 2017 and continued to take care of computer and software needs for his family, friends, and longtime customers.
He is preceded in death by his granddaughter Madison, sister Jeanette Nicholson, and his parents Don and Helen Vallie.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years Diane Rains Vallie, his daughters; Donna Halbrooks and husband Phil; Misty Carrell and husband Sam. Grandchildren Justin Torbett and wife Marissa and their child Maya, Hillary Burdic and husband Joey and their child Johnathan, and Cameron Morgan. His four brothers: Don, Bill, Frank, Bob and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday noon to 8:00 PM with the family present from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
A celebration of his life will be 1:00 PM Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Monahans First United Methodist Church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Harkey Funeral Home; Monahans, Texas.
Preston chose to make donations to organizations that supported the needs of other less fortunate, his family would ask that you do the same in his memory.
