R Russell

R A (Bob)Russell Jr, of Monahans Texas, died May 4,2022, at ORMC Hospital in Odessa. He was 74 years old.  Bob was born November 18,1947 to Robert Alexander Russell and Mildred Russell in McCamey, Texas.

He grew up in a lot of different oilfield towns as a kid. Once old enough Bob joined the Army. After leaving the service he married Glenda Russell. He worked as a carpenter, truck driver, pulling unit operator, crain operator, and mechanic. What ever needed to be done he was a jack of all trades. He loved spending time with family and friends.His door was always open, and anyone was welcome. He would have coffee made early for any one that wanted show up. He loved talking about his life in the oilfield. He loved listening to old rock and roll, and country music. He had a very busy life with his wife, three kids -Bobby, Becky, Belinda Joy, two son in laws- Royce Sprouse and William Lewis, one daughter in law- Judy Russell. Nine gandkids- Tiffany, Cody,Jenna, Jaeanna, Toby, William(Bubba), Kaitlin, Robert(Charlie), Kareen and seven great grand kids- Brayden, Kaylee,Skylynn, Athena, Layne,Cortona, and Mavis.

Preceeded in death by his mother Mildred Russell of Bastrop, Father Robert Alexander Russell of Monahans, sisters Ricci Parker, Karla Battick, and Loretta Russell of Texon who died as a baby, his youngest daughter Belinda Joy Sprouse all of Monahans

He is survived by his wife Glenda Russell, son Bobby Russell , daughter Becky Lewis, his sister Wendy Hyatt of Smithville Texas, Pam Davis of D’Hanis Texas, Rhonda Harnett of Cedar Creek Texas, Ronald Russell of Huntsville Texas. Numerus neices, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday May 10, 2022 from 9:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Harkey Funeral Home. His funeral service will be held at Harkey Funeral Home on Wedenday May 11, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Joshua Rieff officating. Burial to follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetary.
